Welcome to Rusty Dragons Adventures, Inc.
The Premier Dragon Boat Club in Toronto, ON
Rusty Dragons Adventures, Inc. is a dragon boat club in Toronto, ON. There are many dragon boat clubs globally, especially across Canada and in Toronto. Canada has been the world champion in almost every category for decades. However, our focus is on making the sport accessible to the "average" person and any person of any ability. Our teams are Fair Play, meaning registration is first-come-first-served with no pre-tests or qualifications in any way. On our boats (20 paddlers together), we operate in a safe, supportive, and positive environment. Our members include blind, deaf, and breast cancer survivors from all walks of life, shapes, and sizes. Our goal is to become the most diverse and accessible club globally.
We offer the following:
- Dragon Boat Racing
- Watersports
- Dragon Boat Training
- Team Building Activities
- Outrigger Canoeing
- Dragon Boat Team Management
Our breast cancer survivor team, the Pink Crusaders, is renowned in Canada and the USA and is traveling to British Columbia to race in 2022 and New Zealand in 2023. We created the first blind team in Toronto in 2014, and that team went on the race in the Canadian Nationals and Pan Am Club Crew Championships with gold and silver medals to show for it. We have three LGBTQ teams, one of which was formed in 2015 when World Pride came to Toronto. We also have Spirit Dragons for youth and young adults with developmental disabilities. We have also coached Special Olympics teams in Atlanta, Georgia. We then have many regular teams for the average person. We love to race at different events, including Ice Dragon Boat in Ottawa. One of the biggest feathers in our cap is to run the very special and historic Canada Day Dragon Boat Regatta on Toronto Island. This is the oldest mixed sport regatta globally: Canoe and Rowing sports since 1884, and then dragon boats were added in 2003. We aim to grow after recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic by adding a para-dragon team for people with amputations or any other disability and adding back a parents and kids team. We will also create a senior team for 50 years old and above. For a complete description of our services, contact us at Rusty Dragons Adventures, Inc. today!
